So I was playing around with the idea of Family being the 'Key' to making my house a home. I wanted an object that I could draw directly from. There are 6 members in our family. My parents who live in Wexford, my three brothers who have immigrated to Australia and myself, here in Limerick. Although all separated, we all possess identical keys to the same lock. Its a momento possess for the rest of our lives. A reminder that we can always return home...

Silk Screen and Lithography
This week we were given our brief for Silkscreen and Lithography. We are to choose objects from which to work from that reminds us of Home. Me being clueless as usual took a good few hours of deabating to finally come up with any ideas. I was considering teddy bears, old photo albums, rustic bottles and the like, yet nothing was taking my fancy. Eventually I started considering what I REALLY found important to me. What makes a house a Home? Instantaneously I knew what the answer was for me... My Family! My family is extremely close to me considering we are so close. Particularly poignant is my relationship with my mother as I am her only daughter and we were always close. Also quite significant in our family is Separation as my three and only brothers immigrated to Australia 3 years ago. I want to somehow portray the importance of the family but also show the separation.
